4 Tasty Christmas Cocktails to See You Through Winter
The holiday season is the perfect time of year to get the Prosecco popping and the gin flowing. With so many recipes for Christmas cocktails though, it can be a little overwhelming.
We teamed up with the sensational food blogger and recipe-extraordinaire, Tamsin Musgrave from the Cup of Kale blog. With her knowledge and love of cocktail making, she provided us with some delicious and easy winter cocktail recipes to keep you going through Christmas all the way to New Year’s!
Don’t worry if you’ve never made anything like this before, all of these recipes are easy to make even if you’re a cocktail mixing novice.
1. Pomegranate and Maple Fizz

For something sweet this Christmas, why not try this tempting pomegranate and maple infused cocktail. Perfect to try on a girls-night in and would even make a great way to see in the new year.
How to make the Pomegranate and Maple Fizz:
Serves 2
Ingredients:
1 pomegranate
2 tbsp maple syrup
500ml indian tonic water
2 shots of vodka
Method:
Remove the arils from the pomegranate. If you place them in a bowl of water, the fleshy bits will rise to the top and you can scoop them out.
Place the arils in a blender and blitz until it turns into a juice.
Pour into a fine sieve over a mug and discard the seedy pulp. It will produce around a 1/4 cup of pomegranate juice.
Add the maple syrup and vodka and stir. Then divide between 2 glasses and top with the tonic.
2. Spiced Rum and Clementine Cocktail

It wouldn’t be Christmas without clementines and spices. A decadent way to enjoy both over the festive season is with this gorgeous cocktail recipe. It’s both exotic and seasonal!
How to make the Spice Rum and Clementine Cocktail:
Serves 2
Ingredients:
4 clementines
2 shots of spiced rum
1 tsp vanilla extract
400ml clementine tonic
Method:
Juice the clementines and discard of the skin. Place in a cocktail shaker with the rum and vanilla and some ice shake well.
Use a cocktail strainer and divide between two glasses and top with clementine tonic.
3. Apple and Maple Dark and Stormy

We know that dark and stormy are not usually words that fill us with joy, but in this case they do! Forget about the horrible weather outside and get creative in the kitchen with this tasty winter cocktail. This one is perfect for those who like a little kick to their cocktails.
How to make the Apple and Maple Dark and Stormy:
Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 shots of dark rum
2 tbsp maple syrup
150 ml apple juice
150 ml ginger beer
Method:
Place the rum, maple syrup, apple juice and some ice in a cocktail shaker and mix well.
Use a cocktail strainer and pour into 2 glasses. Top with ginger beer, a slice of apple and a sprig of rosemary and serve!
4. Cranberry and Pear White Sangria

Thinking of having friends round for some festivities? Then this cocktail will make your night. Grab a pitcher and get the drinks flowing with a sangria fit for any party.
How to make the Cranberry and Pear White Sangria:
Makes 1 pitcher
Ingredients:
1 lime
1 cup fresh cranberries
2 pears
1 bottle white wine, dry
150 ml pear juice
150 ml white cranberry juice
Method:
Squeeze the juice of the lime into a pitcher. Then place into the pitcher with the cranberries, sliced pear, wine, pear and cranberry juice.
Give it a good mix and then place in the fridge for at least 4 hours before serving!
